Chollas Lake is located near the city of San Diego. From I-5 take I-805 East to State Highway 94. Go East on State Highway 94 3½ miles to College Avenue. Go north on College Avenue approximately 1/8 mile to Ryan Road. Go west on Ryan Road approximately ½ mile to Chollas Lake on the north side of the road.

General Info:

Chollas Lake is a small, urban lake of 16 surface acres. Facilities include: an 8/10's-of-a-mile dirt path around the lake for walking, jogging, and bicycling; picnic tables with barbecue grills; children's play equipment; a small basketball court; hiking trails; and coming soon, a multi-purpose ball field in the canyon. Fishing Info:

The California DFW stocks the lake with rainbow trout during the late Fall to early Spring and catfish during the Summer. Several groups and organizations also stock the lake for youth fishing events. There are also some largemouth bass and bluegill in the lake. This is a "Kids-Only" fishing lake for children of 15 years and younger.. Be sure to visit the CDFW web site for complete regulations before heading out.
