The Santee Lakes are located NE of San Diego in the city of Santee. From San Diego take I-8 east to hwy. 125 north. Take hwy 52 west and exit Mast Blvd. Go east to the lakes.
This is a 190 acre park that contains 7 lakes filled with recycled water. It is open year round, 8am to 6pm M-TH, 6am to 6 pm F-SUN. Entrance fees are $3 per car during the week and $5 on the weekends. Activities include fishing, camping and hiking. The lakes are stocked year round with 13,000 lbs. of Trout Nov.-Mar. and 24,000 lbs. of Catfish Mar.-Oct. Fishing permits are $9 for adults and $6 for kids 15 and under. Be sure to visit the CDFW web site for complete regulations before heading out.
