California Delta

Location:

    The California Delta is located South of Sacramento, between Stockton and Antioch.

General Info:

    The California Delta is a series of canals, islands, levees and elevated roads fed by the Sacramento and San Joaquin river systems. There are close to 1000 miles of navigable waterways. It hosts a variety of recreational activities including fishing, hunting, boating and camping.

Boating Info:

    Numerous launch sites are available. There are also rentals available at some of the marinas (see map). A GPS is recommended as one can easily get lost in here.


Fishing Info:

    There are salmon, sturgeon, striped bass, largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and carp here. Be sure to visit the CDFW web site for complete regulations before heading out.
