I was tooling around the internet and found a 42' boat out of harbor island (San Diego) going on a overnight trip for $180.00. I thought WOW :EyePop: no fuel surcharge included bait and fish cleaning, all i had to do was bring my own food and drink. Turns out there was me and two other anglers . The skipper told us that we were going to fish the just south of The 390 and make our way north. We start to troll in the grey light and run across a kelp paddy and we stop. The skipper say's we are getting good marks 80 feet down. On of the anglers puts a one ounce sikner on with a sardine. Next thing we know bendo. After about 10 minutes a Blue Fin Tuna. Nothing else on this stop. Start trolling again and we pick but a Ablie, but no other bait fish. Then a lone swimming Mahi. Then Albie followed by a bait fish Albie. Then another troll Albie. And in between all of these were plenty of pesky Skip Jack. We put a maurader out for Mako's and caught a 30 or so pound Mako which was released to live another day. It was a great trip two late season Albies for me. And who say's there are no Albacore in late October
