sorry guys but havent been posting my trips........same fish, dodos, yellows, and albies....but this trip....i just had to. for those that know me, you can hit me up for the locations but until the weekend tourny is over, ill let you figure it out...
Skippered my friend Chris parker 2320....a truly amazing fishing platform and my friend O. Wfo. Every single bait that hit the water resulted in quality size yellofin tuna. we fished for only half a day and had over 10 yellowfin per person.......great numbers. TRIED calling in ANY boats, giving out numbers and only 6-10 boats showed up. EVERY BOAT WAS HOOKED UP. Many called bullshit over the radio....but i will let the pictures do the talking. Very very local fishing. unbelievable. We filled up all the fish boxes and had no more room to keep fish and we knew we had more than our fill. At this point we started releasing tuna. Lost count of how many, but we easily could have had limits. But why keep more than you can really handle? Like i said, there was plenty of fish to be had and tried hailing anyone who wanted to be on a wide open bite. Helped a father and son fishing together get onto their first yellowfin....amazing feeling. NO TROLL FISH. all on bait. after we ran out of bait, we counted 18 yft from 20-to maybbbeee 40 but who knows...with even more released.
First stop we have a triple going.....tried to get greedy and get a quad with 3 guys. So i took my Trinidad DC with the tuna on and put it in the rod holder. Grab the other trinidad dc and casted it out with a dine......then i realized my other fish was about to get tangled with the other two. so i set my rod on the rail, took my other rod out of the rod holder and right then the fish darted and off goes my Trinidad 16 DC into the ocean, and without thinking i jump right in and catch up to it......GOT IT! swim back to the boat, hand the rod to my buddy while hes still hooked up......get on the boat, "hey guys wheres my other trini dc?" oh ****.......that went in the water too . should have never left it on the rail, with bait in teh water....idiot. I look in the water nervously and see a green spectra line about 10 feet under.......i jump back in the water again, 15 minutes and 300 yards later....up from the deep comes back my 1000 dollar set up....the fish gods must have been looking down on me today..
