Well I havent been fishing in what seems like forever but after seeing all the reports of tuna and dorado I just couldnt take it any longer. Me and my girl went out of Mission Bay on tuesday. Got a half scoop of very beat up looking sardines and headed out to the 182 bank.
Saw a bunch of these at 10 miles but no sign of any tuna:

Continued on until about 1/4 mile from the 182 and found a small paddy and caught one small dorado. Another boater came in and got one as well, then it was dead.

The other boater continued on and I saw him stop about 500 yards away. I went over to investigate and he was on a good sized paddy with dorado jumping everywhere. I joined in and it was wide open for about an hour. I started letting them go after the third one and only kept deep-hooked ones after that. Ended up keeping 7 before I almost ran out of bait.

I decided to keep my last few live baits and look for some tuna. I trolled around for a few hours and found no sign of anything else. Headed back in and found a small paddy at 18 miles. I had one last sardine left with a little wiggle to it so I dropped it in and nailed one more bull dorado, released. There were a few more there but they didnt want anything dead.
Fun Day, it felt good to get out again. Hopefully I'll have more reports soon!
