Virginia Lakes

Location and Directions:

Virginia Lakes are located in Mono County approximately 20 miles northwest of the town of Lee Vining. From Lee Vining go North on Hwy. 395 past Mono lake to Virginia Lakes Rd. Turn left and follow the road to the lakes.

General Info:

There is actually a series of 13 lakes here situated at an elevation of 9,700 feet. Some are accesible by road while others must require a short hike to reach. Tent and RV camping are available. Virginia Lakes Resort web site

Boating Info:

There are a few boat launches at some of the larger lakes. Electric or man-powered boats only. Rentals are also available.

Fishing Info:

The larger lakes are stocked weekly with rainbow trout. There are also brown and brook trout here.
