San Pablo Reservoir

Location and Directions:

     The San Pablo Reservoir is located is located north of Oakland in Contra Costa County. From Oakland take Hwy. 13 North to Hwy 24 East. Exit Camino Pablo and go North. Turns into San Pablo Dam Rd. Go North to the lake.

General Info:

   San Pablo Reservoir consists of 866 surface acres and 14 miles of shoreline. It is open from mid February through mid November for day use only. It's closed during the winter to serve as a resting place for migrating waterfowl. Entrance fee is $6 per vehicle. There is a nice picnic and children's play area and a full service cafe available. Boating Info:

   Only boats with four-stroke engines allowed. No Skiing / Jet-Skiing allowed. There is an 8-lane launch ramp available for a $5 launch fee. Rental boats and pontoons are available at the marina. Float-tubing is allowed for a $3 launch fee. Lake speed limit is 25 MPH.

Fishing Info:

     The lake is stocked regularly with rainbow trout by the DFG. There are also largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, redear and sturgeon in here. Fishing permits are $3.50 per day. There are several fish cleaning stations and a handicap access fishing dock available.
