San Justo Reservoir

San Justo Reservoir is located in San Benito county, just east of Salinas, California. From hwy. 101, take hwy. 156 east to Union Rd. Follow the entrance to the lake.

General Info:

The lake is open from the first weekend in February through fall. Days and hours are Wednesday through Sunday from sunrise to sunset. Entrance fee is $4. There is a nice picnic area and also hiking and mountain bike trails. It is connected to the San Luis Reservior via the Delta-Mendota canal. It is also a popular windsurfing lake.

Boating Info:

No motor boats allowed. Electric and sail craft 16ft or less only.

Fishing Info:

The lake is stocked regularly with rainbow trout by the DFG. The local bait and tackle shop also periodically stocks the lake with trophy sized rainbows for contests. There is also a nice population of Florida largemouth bass as well as catfish, crappie, and bluegill.
