  Eagle Lake

Location and Directions:

     Eagle Lake is located in Lassen County, approx. 17 miles Northwest of the city of Susanville, CA. From Redding take hwy. 44 East. Approx. 10 miles before you reach Susanville, turn left on Eagle Lake Rd. (hwy. A1) and travel approx. 15 miles North to the lake.

General Info:

    Eagle Lake consists of 27,000 surface acres and has 100 miles of shoreline making it the second largest natural lake in California. Elevation is 5,100ft above sea level. The lake is open from Memorial Day weekend through Dec. 31. Tent and RV camping is available at several locations around the lake.

Boating Info:

    There are four public launch ramps available free of charge.

Fishing Info:

    Fishing is allowed one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset. Rainbow trout are stocked here by the DFG. The lake has a reputation of growing some trophy-sized trout, including many in the 3-5 pound range.
