San Justo Reservoir

Notice:

Due to a Zebra Mussel infestation, the San Justo Reservoir and Recreational Area are closed to the public. We will update this site as soon as we receive additional information.

     San Justo Reservoir is located in San Benito county, just east of Salinas, California. From hwy. 101, take hwy. 156 east to Union Rd. Follow the entrance to the lake.


General Info:

    The lake is open Wednesday through Sunday from the first weekend in February through fall from sunrise to sunset. Entrance fee is $4. There is a nice picnic area and also hiking and mountain bike trails. It is connected to the San Luis Reservior via the Delta-Mendota canal. It is also a popular windsurfing lake.

Boating Info:

    No motor boats allowed. Electric and sail craft 16ft or less only.


Fishing Info:

    The California Department of Fish and Game regularly stocks the lake with trout. There is also a nice population of Florida largemouth bass as well as catfish, crappie, and bluegill. Be sure to visit the CDFW web site for complete regulations before heading out.
