     Hume Lake is located in Fresno County and is part of the Sequoia and Kings Canyon Park. From Fresno, take hwy 180 East into the mountains. Exit Hume Lake Rd. South to the lake.


General Info:

    The lake consists of 85 surface acres at capacity and is at an elevation of 5,200 feet. It is open from mid-May through late-Sept. and closed during the winter months. Hume Lake Ranger District at (559) 338-2251.


Camping Info:

    There are several campgrounds around the lake. Note: This is black bear country; Special food storage regulations in effect and must be followed.
- Hume Lake Public Campground: 50 standard non-electric, 14 tent only. (559)335-2232
- Princess Campground: 19 tent only sites. (559)335-2232

Boating Info:

    Hand-launch boats with electric motors only.


Fishing Info:

    Rainbow trout are planted here during the spring and summer months. There are also brown trout, small and largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish here. Be sure to visit the CDFW web site for complete regulations before heading out.
