Havasu Reservoir

    Lake Havasu lies on the California / Arizona border and is part of the Colorado River system. From Los Angeles, take I-10 east towards Riverside then CA 62 through 29 Palms. You can continue on 62 towards Parker (AZ side), or take CA 95 north to Havasu Lake City and turn right on Havasu Lake Rd (CA side).

General Info:

    The lake is 45 miles long. It is open year round for activities including fishing, boating, camping and water skiing. There are numerous landings and resorts around the lake.

Boating Info:

    More than a dozen launch ramps are located around the lake. (see above)

Fishing Info:

    There are striped bass, large and smallmouth bass, catfish, panfish and carp here. Healthy populations of threadfin shad provide a constant food source for these predators.

Comments and Tips:

    This lake receives a lot of boat traffic (water skiing, jet skis and speeders), especially during the summer months. Concentrate fishing early mornings or evenings when boat traffic is minimal.
