     Eastman Lake is located Madera County approx. 28 miles North East of the city of Chowchilla, CA. From Hwy. 99 at Chowchilla take Avenue 26 East. Once you pass the town of Daulton, travel 3 miles to Raymond Rd. and turn Left towards the town of Raymond. When you come to Knowles Junction, (just before Raymond) turn left on Buchanan Rd. and travel East approx. 7 miles to the lake.


General Info:

    Eastman Lake consists of 1,780 surface acres at capacity. Elevation is 600ft above sea level. It is managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The lake is open year-round, sunrise to sunset. Day use fee is $4 per vehicle, annual pass is $30. Bring supplies with you! The nearest fuel and supplies is 20 miles to the west in Chowchilla.


  • - Chowchilla Recreation Area : Day use only. Boat launch, restrooms, picnic area, hiking and equestrian trails, playground.
  • - Codorniz Recreation Area : Camping, boat launch, restrooms (with showers), picnic area, hiking and equestrian trails, playground, disc golf, hunting.

Camping Info:

    Camping is available in the Codorniz recreation area. A mix of electric and non-electric campsites are available from $16-$24 per night. Each site has a parking spur, table and firepit/grill. Ten people are permitted per campsite and there is a 14-day limit per stay. Toll-free reservation line: 1-877-444-6777 (10:00 AM - 10:00 PM EST)

Boating Info:

    There are two public launch ramps located in the Chowchilla and Codornez Recreation areas. Water skiing is allowed in the south end of the lake. The Chowchilla river inlet is restricted to all boating.


Fishing Info:

    Rainbow trout are planted here during the winter months. There are also largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish here. Shore fishing is allowed 24-hours. The California Dept. of Fish and Game has declared Eastman Lake a trophy largemouth bass fishery. Anglers may keep only one bass per day with a minimum length of 22". Be sure to visit the CDFW web site for complete regulations before heading out.
