Collins Lake

Location and Directions:

     Collins Lake is located north of Sacramento near the city of Yuba. From Sacramento, take hwy. 99 north to Yuba, then hwy 20 east. Exit Spring Valley Rd. north and follow it to the lake.

General Info:

    This is a fairly large lake of over 1,000 surface acres and 12 miles of shoreline. It is open year round, 5:30 am to 10 pm in the summer, and sunrise to sunset in the winter. Entrance fee is $10 per vehicle, $13 on the weekends. RV, tent camping and cabin rentals are available. Swimming and water skiing are allowed. For more information visit Collins Lake web site.

Boating Info:

    There is a boat launch available. Launch fee is $9. Water skiing is permitted May 15 to Sept. 15 only.

Fishing Info:

    More than 50,000 trout are planted every spring, making Collins Lake the largest private planting program North of Sacramento. There are also bass, catfish, crappie and sunfish here. The north arm of the lake is a fishing only zone, 5mph speed limit. Be sure to visit the CDFW web site for complete regulations before heading out.
