Default Big Bear Shore Limits 9/27

Wanted to give you guys a Big Bear report in case anyone is planning on fishing Troutfest this upcoming weekend.
Fall bite is good as always.
This year there are limited shore spots due to the drought (waterline is wayyy down) + usual falltime overgrown aquatic vegetation.
Red house to the dam is best but crowded.
East ramp / Stanfield looked clear of weeds but we didn't try it.
Everywhere between there are little random pockets of (less) weeds which are also good.
    Fish sunrise/sunset is best.
Morning until the wind kicks up around 10 is a slow pick.
Use long leaders or slip bobbers.

We decided to skip the crowds and go on Monday evening to a random clear spot.
Forgot the powerbait so just used some marshmallows and scent. Though I can guarantee powerbait would have worked even better.
Got limits of mostly 10-12" with a few larger ones. Bite was right as sun went over the mountains.
Lost a few in the weeds too.

    No derby for me.

Yeah it was the best trout fishing I've had in a few years. Including sierras and city lakes.
