The key is to go out and find the active fish.

Thanks my main concern is knowing where to fish. I dont want to get busted for trespassing or anything of that nature. Im assuming i can go anywhere on the duct to fish right, no one is going to give me a hassle. I live in la so where would be the closest place to fish

There is access to much of it. Most of the bridges have gates that let you walk in. The areas where you aren't allowed to fish are clearly marked and don't have gates.

99 percent of the duct is fishable.
