ditto: kernriverflyfishers. Really nice goldens! 14 miles? Sounds uphill to me and lots of wheezing! Was it hard to breathe or were you that high? Much thanks for the post...haven't seen much activity on this board from the Sierras this year. Much thanks for posting!

It wasn't too bad of a hike. Im sort of a mountain goat though. I believe the trailhead was at around 10,000 ft. Would love to do the trip as a 2 night backpacking excursion, get a chance to fish some more.

Cottonwood Lakes are epic! Over New Army Pass the Golden's get even bigger. Treasures of Gold are out there for those that are willing to work for them. Nice fish!
