Thread: Quick Trip in Bishop 7/22

Default Quick Trip in Bishop 7/22

I stayed in Bishop and fished intake 2 on 7/22 and the fishing was just phenomenal. I alone caught and released well over 50 fish within a few hours on B.Line Mini jigs and I didn't start fishing until around 9:30. The fish are really looking for more dark natural colors up here.

After intake 2 I hit some of the Bishop creeks up by South lake and got into a pretty decent bite. Biggest fish actually came out of it which was around 4 1/2 pounds on a Orange jig

Tried to fish Sabrina lake for about 35 minutes towards the end of the day but wind got bad. I did manage to catch one on a jig. The lakes water has risen so I would suggest a float tube or a boat here.

    Hope this helps out anyone.

Thanks for the report. I'm heading up there in August. Which colors worked best and were you using regular mini jig of mini plus tail type jigs. Thanks.

I was using a regular 1/32 ounce mini jig made by B. line Jig Co. Use tan, dark brown, black, or dark green and you will have great success. All I use is mini jigs up here. Make sure to be using 2 pound test and don't be afraid to add some Bite on garlic or any other scent.

Nicely done sir, nicely done indeed! Next time stop by Parchers for a photo op and some more high-fives (if your hand can take it).

Haha there was no one around to even high-five. It was nice fishing all by myself every where except intake 2 but even there was hardly anyone.

Edison bought a whole bunch of fish and had them planted in the drainage as a bonus. One of the places they put quite a few fish was Intake 2
