Default Silver and Gull Lake ... 9/10-9/11

Silver Lake was gorgeous weather ... but dead stop for fishing. Didn't see anybody catching...

On Friday we just dropped anchor and put 1 line in the water and wife/social director/ boss of 46 years lands her biggest ... a 6# on Gull Lake ... then another in about 5-10 minutes ... then it almost came to a stop. 4 fish for the morning. Maybe didn't try a long enough leader? I went from 24 inches to about 4.5 feet ... no difference. Didn't see a fish caught ... a pleasant beautiful day

And then ... the landing tells us there's a free spin if you bring in one over 5#. My wife who never wins anything spins and wins a full day boat rental.

    Nice day overall.

If I knew how to upload from my phone ... I'd give it a go.

Have a gr8t Saturday wherever you are

Think maybe I'll stop at Intake 2 next weekend and then troll June. Making about 5 trips to LA for games and vacation. Don't know if I want to fish the Owens Valley this time of the year ... because of the temps.

billy b Thx for your report, congrats to your wife on getting her Grant Pb and a free boat rental. Silver Lk, one of my favorites to troll. We plan to head to June & Crowley 3rd week of October.
Will be staying at Reverse Creek cabins. June a.m troll, then head to Crowley for the afternoon troll. What's a recommended LB leader for Crowley, will be trying Cranks and various spoons, and feathers (all barbs filed down) - this is going to be my 1st Crowley trip, I am stoked. Thanks

Thanks for the note GdHkSet ... I saw you typed Grant ... it was Gull FYI. I'm not the Crowley expert ... there's others that know a lot more. Trolling should always be with 6-8 pound test most of the time. I've heard people say that on Bridgeport, Crowley, and probably Grant ... where there are big fish ... 10# leader might be more appropriate. Interested in what you like about Reverse Creek.

Sorry for the typo. Thanks for the recommended leader info, I'll probably bring both types. Were hoping for some action. We only get to head up there every fall, so my other fishing buddy has been making the reservations at Reverse Creek for our group the last few years. We used to camp and bring all the gear but we got spoiled sleeping in the cabins. The RC owners are nice, the cabins have everything we need in them, location, and it fits our budget. We just drink beer and eat at night - other than that were out the door for the dawn patrol - on the water all day.

I audited their web site ... nice shacks ... It appears that they have some minimum stay regs ... like not 1 nighters ... etc. ???
