Tournament rules are strictly Catch & Release with penalties for short or dead fish at weigh in.

You can see the lengths taken to preserve the fish.

The tubs are for placing your weigh in bags in when the line is long to keep the fish at a good temperature. Fish over 5 lbs must be individually bagged to insure the fishes safety. Fish are immediately released back into the Delta after being weighed.

    Great report Dev!

Awesome how you stuck to friendship over
Business. That's the way it should be.

Looks like you guys had a blast!

Glad you all had a good time... I'm sure you're allready looking forward to next year.

We got a ways to go to catch up to the Bako Boys. That Jr Striper Fest you are putting together far surpasses anything we have done. It's a pity that our full head of hair exempts us from being a Bako Boy, damn genetics!!!!!

Here is a pic of the "Redneck Rocketship" crew fishin' on the Delta. Pat showing his best side for the camera. lol

A fellow BassCat owner "Punchin'" through the green stuff to find the big ones. 65-85 lbs braid is a must to pull them out of the weeds.

Big fish of the tournament was this 12.85 lb beast.

As promised here are some more pics. I didn't have a dedicated camera to pick up and take pics and my phone was it. There would be many more pics but using a phone took too much time away from casting and I didn't want to drop it while out of town.

First and foremost, Captain Dev and a fat Delta keeper

Every inch of this place is Bassy. But not all hold the big girls.

"Docks to the left of me, levies to the right, here I am stuck fishing Tules in the middle of you"

Weather got us for two of the days

An entire tract of empty private docks that fell victim to the market crash. Each of those ramps have slabs for homes never built, but hold fish non the less.

Another Delta keeper destined for the livewell.

Lol, does this look Bassy or what?

What to fish? Pylons or Tules?

    Gateway to Disappointment Slough.

    Does it hold fish?

Catp. Dev and co-captain Skip bangin the docks.

Ready for a party Delta style?

Abandoned boat and shack in Disappointment Slough. Fishy?

There's stuff like this all over the place.

    More fishy abandonment.

    K, I wanna live there.

The expanse of water in the background is called Frank's tract, it's the size of 3-4 DVL's and is the 74mph playground. It's average depth is about 6-8ft...

    Another fat Delta keeper.

Chow time after tourney day one.

    Fast eye candy.

Co-captain Skip getting ready to eat lunch.

Looking down the channel to the entrance of anglers paradise. Notice the laydown framed by the dock pylon and post to the right, yup it's got fish.

    Heading for the scales.

Regrettably ready to load the "Redneck Rocket" up for the trip home...

Lol, hey Dev I'm just testing the foghorn for Tony Francescha's camera...

Now that's a great write up. I like it that you didn't abandon your guest.

    Congrats on the catching guys.
