    Default catfish stocking?

    How come the DFG does not stock catfish anymore?

    They do in the LA area. Are you talking about a specific place?

    I was waiting for someone to ask that question. Same ole same ole (Money) The DFG is suppose to stock catfish May-Nov. Last year was great they didn't miss a beat. This year started off ok in May, then something terribly went wrong the second week of June. They had the Orange County lakes on their stocking schedule and suddenly took them off. After that nothing!!!!!!!!! I heard it was some kind of money issue, that's the bad news. Here is the good news, the state fiscal year ends in June. Governor Brown (My Buddy) lol already has signed a new budget. It may take a little time, but you will see catfish stockings resume in the future. In the mean time the San Bernadino park lakes are stocking catfish every Thursday till Aug 1st. My buddy Bruce went yesterday and C&R 9 of them in 4 hours of fishing. Hang in their everybody, as soon as I see a catfish truck I will post it.
