Yoda's heads up post for January
First of all Happy New year to all my forum friends, and family, and kudo's to all of you posting up your adventures as of late.
This time of the year is cold in the morning's, making it a little more difficult to pull oneself from those warm, cooshy blankies
we are curled up in, but my point for this post is that, generally, we catch our largest perch of the year in these first 2 month's.
I haven't been reporting much as of late, but typical catches up here have included at least a 15 incher each time, and often numbers
approaching 50, or 60 fish for an outing. We have large tide swings these winter months, making for alot of water movement, which
perch generally enjoy being in. So, with that said, try to find a beach you like to fish, check your tide books, and make a plan to get
outside, and tell all the rest of us your story for the day. Lord know's, I also live vicariously through many of your reports, when I'm busy
with my life, instead of on the beach. good fishing to all of you in '13, and hope to see you fishing. Mikey

Very true Mikey! Wise words coming from Yoda himself.
Have you heard whats going on off Dana Point lately? Sounds like the Humboldt squid are on the prowl.
How would they taste on that grill of yours eh? haha.

Hey Mikey!
Nice report, I totally agree with you, monsters are caught this time of year.
They may not be halibut or WSB but BSP are very fun on light line. I look forward to heading up there next month and getting on some of that fun and get my PB...
With the squid washing up on shore, I think there may be a very good WSB session coming up, real soon here...
Take Care & Happy New Years,
Robert

Thanks for the motivating report Mikey.
Our S.W.A.T. Northern Crew have been hammering those Perch lately.
I'm looking forward to hitting the surf for the first time this year.
See you soon Yoda... very soon.
Good luck in the tournament Saturday. Defend your Perchin' title!
