    Default Balboa Lake Skunk

The lake was packed with fish. The tilapia were jumping all over, some of them at least a pound. We also saw catfish and carp. I can't tell you how to get the tilapia to bite, but I can tell you what won't work right now. We had no luck with nymphs of all sorts, black maribou streamers, beads, or a large Elk Hair Caddis. Apparently the tilapia are herbivores/ominvores and don't spend a lot of time chasing nymphs. They are, however, very active. I didn't try for the carp. The water temp was 78. Good luck.
