2 oz pyramid is good for long casts in surf, sharks, rays, 20 lb set-up.

Newfishsmell spot really isn't surf fishing, more like back bay fishing,
    except the perch pic.

Lighter set-up 1/2 oz carolina rig (sliding egg to a swivel) and a 18" leader.
Fish in tight, stay out of the surf unless you are going for longer casts with crankbaits.
Lot of action from the wet sand to 40' out.

Hey thanks buddy! Went out there today, surf conditions were CRAP. Not to mention the inshore winds that were present. That just made casting farther harder! I've got a simalar setup. I use trilene 6 lb smooth castin line, along with a 1/2 oz egg with a carolina keeper stopping it about 18 inches up. #6 red mosquito hook. I'm sure this will work! Thanks so much for the info! See ya out there!
