Not really sure how to start a 3 week fishin report but I am going to give it a shot. Ugghhhh.... Left San Diego, drove 2 days straight and pulled in to Los Barrilles at Verdugo's Park. We took the toy hauler and the quads.
Here is the pics of the beach and the hotel where the boats pic up the anglers to go fishin for the day.
Another beautiful morning in the Sea of Cortez.
Verdugo's Hotel & Park
and the famous dock where the fisherman and their catch get dropped at the end of a long day.
Now on to the fish killin, KILL KILL KILL! This trip we took out Cruiser's and Panga's. We must have caught and released 20 beautiful Marlin on this trip. Most people release Marlin which has resulted in much better Marlin fishin, but the long liners are still screwing it up with lots of bi-catch of sea turtles, baby marlin, baby dorado, and much more which sucks.
Here is my mom on a Marlin.
20 minutes later.....my dad had to help her a little bit.
And she finally brought it in, and it was a great release.
My girl on a Marlin
My girl's 1st Marlin ever!
My girl, the capitan, and her 2nd beautiful marlin.
Paddy (me) on a Marlin
and there it is!!!
My dad and bro got a hungry one, they caught the same Marlin together. LOL!
Look! It ate both lures!
NOW FOR SOME IN SHORE FISHIN!!!
Caught a lot of Rooster's but all about the same size. We released these as well.
Caught a lot of Pargo but the good size ones ran us into the rocks.
Some Dorado inshore as well.
My girls big dorado
Now for the interesting part. LOL! The **** FIGHTS!!!!!
We went to a few of these while we were down here and we had a blast!
These are pics of where they put the razor blade on one leg of each rooster.
First they bring in the two roosters that are going to fight and then they bring a third one in that gets the two ready to fight by getting them pissed off! They get pretty rawled up!
And here they go! GO GREEN GO!!!
30 seconds later!
This rooster cost me $30 bucks. Damn him!
But the owner did try really hard to revive him so I felt it was $30 well spent! LOL!
But I did win once on the wheel! :D
It is a really cool experience. I recommend that everyone see at least one in their lifetime. They have the whole thing orchistrated like a boxing match. They have a red corner and a green corner. They have rounds that last up to 8 minutes. If both roosters are alive after 8 minutes then no one wins, it's a draw! The winner wins $150 bucks plus the $ he gambles on his own rooster. It's a sad sad day for the looser, but he's got more waiting in a cage on the side lines. He'll be back in 20 minutes to fight his next match. LOL!
I think that is my dead rooster in the background.
And of course what's a trip without some hard work! My dad shouldn't have listened to me. What do I know about short cuts. LOL!
Dorado Time!
This is a pic the captian got of my 50 Pound dorado smashing my personal best by 13 pounds. It took me over an hour to bring it in on 30 pound test.
I had to wait a little while because after that one pic of me holding it, the dorado stated to slap the crap out of my leg so that's why it's all bloody. Because I beat it to a bloody pulp. Yarrrr!
TUNA TIME!!!!!!!!!!! KILL, KILL, KILL!!!!
Look at them boil!
One day's work! We were so tired after catchin 53 tuna in 5.5 hours at 50 miles out. My arms were jelly after all those tuna.
Best part of this trip, my parents bought a piece of property 200 yards from the beach. We will be building a house in the next year! Hurray!!!!
Well, thats my story of Baja. Short and Sweet. Remember to KILL KILL KILL!!!!!!
