    Hi Ron,
    Intersesting abouth the "SWIVEL" controversy. I always use swivels and no one has ever said anything. It just makes sense sometimes to use one.

    Hi murrieta angler,

    Most of the static (actually kinda good-natured jabs toward me) comes from the guys that are for real 'old-school' or emulate the old-school code. 8-foot live-bait boat rod, PENN 500, 25~30 lb test mono, some kinda weight (torpedo), and live bait hooks. The macho thing to do is kick the line a couple of inches from the hook location of a fish that's been landed on the deck ... thus snapping the line so as to quickly retie with a 'new' hook and carry on the slaughter !! See that mostly when the Bonito and Barracuda are hot !! ha ha ha

    Old-school standards are changing as we speak still ........
