    Default Late report Corona 1-07-10

Went out to corona on thursday, was in line by 4:45 and was about 20 cars back. Sat and waited anxiously for the gates to open.About 6:15 i was at the front of the line, Paid my gate and float tube fees, and headed down towards the dam. I then decided to fish from shore until the sun came over the hills, due to the fact i forgot my gloves and sweatshirt in my kitchen and only had a thin flannel shirt.(i usually load my truck the night before, but i wasnt sure if i was even going to waste my time going, so it was a last minute thing.) I got one bite from shore, but missed it. that was it from shore, but the moment i felt it start to warm up i headed over towards the launch ramp and parked as close as i could. I fished for a while before the stocking truck arrived, and got one bite on a gold kastmaster but farmed it about 10 feet from my tube. I had stopped to take a break and was on shore when the truck arrived, andw as amazed to see 5 people hook up as soon as they started dumping. i casually headed back out, and on my first cast i hooked up, but he flopped out of my tube. next cast i hookup and land it, nice 1 1/2 lber. It was tough for a while, so i just drifted around, throwing everything i had:powerworm, kastmasters, roostertails, powerbait, pretty much the works. finially about 2 ocklock, i was drifting along when i got a bite on my pole that was rigged with power bait, so i reeled that in and it was a nice 2lb fish. once i put it on my stringer i realized my other pole was hooked up, and i landed another nice fish. then the enxt 2 casts, 2 more fish. this completed my limit so i headed back to shore.

3 fish caught on salmon peach powerbait, one on chartruese power worm, and one on a gold kastmaster.

Not a bad outing. Cool that the stocking truck arrived. It helped ya beat the odds out.
