    I used to work the sportboats in San Diego, and one of the reasons I stopped is because we would catch like 500 EVERY TRIP, up to about 5 pounds. Then, I got to fillet 500 sculpins on the way home. Used to be $5.00 for a limit of 10 per person. I got poked I think three
    times total, and that was enough for me. Got real good at giving haircuts to em though. Anyway, those were the days.

    What do they bite? I hve only caught a few and they were@ Piers

    Yes you can take them from shore... Ive caught them on squid, cut chovies, and swimbaits from piers and jetties.

    minimum size is 10"

    Think they would hit a Chovy look alike? or are they scavangers? what kinda swimabait did u use?

    They will definately hit lures... they hang around structure so if your trying to get them from the surf it might be a little difficult...unless theres structure near by, you might have a chance. You can find them hiding inside Jetties...cast parallel to the rocks and slow retrieve. Ive lost losts of swimbaits doing that so be careful... also try around Pier pilings...
