Thread: Anyone used a kayak paddle with a float tube?

  1. #1

Default Anyone used a kayak paddle with a float tube?

I am thinking of trying it. I have a 20 ounce paddle made by ONNO that I absolutely love.
I just wonder if anyone had tried it and just how efficient it was - did you look like a dork out there?

Anyway, any imput would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,

    FT

    Default Paddle

The whole appeal to tubing for me is having my hands free to fish. I also have a fishing kayak and that is my biggest complaint, dealing with the paddle while trying to fish. With float tube fins you can maneuver into a spot while casting at the same time. Also your legs are much stronger than your arms and will take much more time to tire out.

its probably like using a hoop net with a reel to bring it up , sounds like you need a pair of better fins .

if you use a paddle on a float tube, you'll have to paddle backwards....
