I am not in the market for a new trout rod..
But I hear good things about the new AMP rods by Berkley???
Would like to try one out, and they are cheap....
7', one piece, would be right for trouting IMHO...

i have a gl2 781 loomis rod that i use with bait for trout. im not sure which 781 one it is tho..the rod is blue if that helps. anyways, its light enough to have fun with small fish but enough power to haul in bigger fish.
personally, for lures, i like to use 6 ft rods with medium action (the loomis rod is a lil too soft to set with lures imo)
These look really nice. I would like to get my hands one or both the 801 or the 802

Thx for the input, any advice on any rods that seem good for trout fishing would be nice not just G-Loomis.
Another thing i noticed, Rods labled (Trigger) are these rods more for a bait cast set-up or just for the little trigger on the handle for comfort? Sorry im a noob when it comes to rod set-ups i usually just buy whatever looks nice lol.
How about a kencore? The yellow ones go for a little over a $100 and the black (aka tiger) for closer to $40. Shimano "spinmatics" are a nice rod for under $40....just depends on what you want to spend and what type of trout fishing you plan on doing, ie. bait n wait, casting hardware, working mini jigs etc.

It boils down to how much cash you want to spend.
For the money i have to agree with Nessie Hunter & Troutdog. The Berkley Amp Rods & the Daiwa Spinamtics are excellent rods for the money.
If money is no object there is nothing better then the new Phenix Rods. Simply amazing Rods and new line they came out with.
Shimano Compre spinning rods make great trout trolling rods too.
You could kill two birds with one stone.
