Went to a shallow park lake in Orange County on Sunday afternoon to try my luck at catching some LMB. This lake won't be named because of all the poachings and out of respect for the locals that fish there.
Anyway, it's a small shallow lake about the size of a football field. The deepest part is probadly about 8 foot and the majority of the lake is about 3 to 5 foot deep.
I fished for 2 hours from 4 to 6:00 PM and caught 3 fishes. The biggest is about 3.5lb and 2 small one about 1 pound each. All fish were caught in 2 to 3 feet of water within 15 feet of shore. They came up to feed on the concrete ledges (hint) right after the sun went down and hit very aggressively. I was using watermelon senko and ika. A photo of the biggest fish is shown.
While fishing, I heard that someone caught a "monster" bass, I went over to check it out and it was just barely 2 pounds. The guy that caught it was of a foreign nationality. He left it flopping around in the dirt with a big grin on his face. I convinced him to let it go after pointing a police patrol car in the lot and telling him that the big bad cop is comming down to check up on everyone. He then said:" Okay, we let him go now".
