Actually large swells are kind of fun. Gives you the feeling your moving faster on the water.
Big steep swells suck. Makes you have to work the throttle to much.
Big steep breaking swells = A bad day on the water. Hope to make it back to Port in one piece.
Amazing how nasty the ocean can get.Channel Islands were expecting 19ft/22fters.Same time Morro Bay got them big swells
Wonder if that C.G.training mission was rated as a success.

Classic Winter swell footage. That happens there ALOT! Every captain up there can tell you stories about huge waves at the harbor mouth. The surfers love that place, too.
