I have always wanted to fish when there is snow in the ground. I got my chance today and headed up the 15 freeway to see snow at a very low level.

Tenkara

Arrived at the water and walked to my first place and notice the water levels were down but flow was up. Sun was out and guess what?

Snow was falling very lightly.

No risers or fish at first location so i headed up to my second stop. The rain increased and then turned to hail then to heavy snow. Fished some down stream runs but no fish.

I was heading back to my truck when I fished one more downstream pocket near the shore and FISH ON and BIG FISH at that.

At that moment it really was snowing heavy.

Got back to the BIG POOL and saw no fish there at all.

So i fished downstream near a long run below a log and fish #2. Still snowing so i headed back to my truck and drove up to next location.

Fished all downstream along opposite shore edge and managed 2 more fish and few more soft takes

Our usual stream was completely diverted and drying up guess the owner upstream was preparing for the worse.

MATCH THE HATCH I dont have any bugs this big to tie on

Awesome day ....Tenkara experience in the SNOW
