I'll explain how to read the numbers on the reel to show when your reel from Okuma was manufactured. For purchasing used reels this is good information to let you know how long that reel has been out. Also it's vital to have these numbers if you have home/theft/fire insurance. Remember this coded number is for Okuma reels. Other manufacturers such as Shimano has their own numbering system. Thank you Davey Brown of Okuma for explaining this to me:)
