Default How Not To Store Your Fishing Hook!

Either In Storage Or During Fishing Out In The Field!

For the beginners i wanted to share what the long time anglers know about keeping your hook on your rig while out in the field. You can set your hook through the hook keeper (if your rod has one) or the base stem of the guide frame, if you have to. Personally i prefer the hook keeper. If my rod doesn't have one then use parts of your reels anatomy like the bail arm. Now you can purchase temporary elastic hook keepers that you can purchase off eBay or Amazon (if i had one i'd show it, sorry).

Especially for treble hook, I use packing foam. All I do is cut out the shapes of sugar cubes but flatter and cut a slit on one side to the middle. The hook shaft is in the middle of the shape and all points are pushed into it. The same is used for single hooks, jig hooks, spinner or spinnerbait hooks.

The jigheads shown are of a certain size stored in my jig box.

Do you make your own jigheads?
