use to spend a lot of nights out la perouse way fishing for popio's but our main target was trying to get a local legendary 200lb kahala that lived off a point near kahahena
got a lot of 100+ fish but never could get him

spent a lot of nights camping out there used to be a fishing shack that's long gone
saw a few epic battles with fair to big tiger sharks hooked while eating your papio
lots of untapped spots all along the road
all the way to hana back then
best jack fishing i ever saw was at midway before it became a preserve
same for giant ono used to see them schooling and they would look like telephone poles
