    Default Sat. Afternoon Kayak Report

Got out there late on Sat. started fishing around 11:30 am Tide was Starting to really flow out. I forgot my digital camera, That usually means Im gonna catch something pic worthy. Fishing was really slow for the first two hours. I only got one nice flat fish, wasnt a halibut, it was a turbot or sole or something, it was fun on my 6lb set up, probably about 18 inches. If someone could tell me a site that has pics, that helps ID fish, Id appreciate it, I would recognize it if I saw it. Anyways, I decided to try something new and fished out in the middle of the channel. Using my 12 lb Bait casting set up, I dropped down a bloody JerkShad, got nailed instantly, but missed it. Sent it back down, got picked up again ,set the hook, Good fish on! It pulled drag, spun me around a few times, I could tell it was a large.I left my net at home, but it would have been to small anyways. I got on the surface, easily legal. Luckily two guys on a boat were coming in and offered to gaff it for me. We guessed it between 30" and 32". I am already pushing the weight capacity on my Yak and I got a lot of YT and Albacore in my freezer so I got a few pics on my cell phone and I let those dudes keep it. They only got a few small fish out there, so they were stoked.
After that I got two more little sand bass, and called it a day. L8R RUSSO

Here's another fish id site...go to "Search Fish Base" in the upper right hand corner of the main page.
