Golden Trevally Turning Gold After Being Landed!
Locally we call Golden Trevally Pao'pao. These brutes are known as Golden Trevally. In the wild they're silver with vertical dark bands. They feed primarily on crustaceans but will prey on almost anything. The teeth are blunted like human molars to crush the shells of crabs.
In this presentation i'll show my underwater video of this rare species hunting for crabs. In my opinion pound for pound they don't fight as hard as the White or Blue Trevallies. Because of what they prey on they're primarily found in crab infested areas. Not a common catch. They do occasionally hit lures & jigs. Because they feed on oily crabs the white meat is also oily & incredibly tasty raw or cooked!
