Thread: Should You Use A Right Hand or Left Hand Baitcaster?

Default Should You Use A Right Hand or Left Hand Baitcaster?

Using a Helios SX HSX-40S & a Komodo SS KDS-273LX Baitcaster by Okuma!

Ok, i'm right handed. So why do i use small baitcasters that are left hand releases rather than for right handers? Because i'd have to swap hands after the cast. Imagine doing that 100's of times all day long. It's easier & smoother using my left hand to crank. It is! But when power is needed i'm always using a right handed "Power Knob" when off a boat for deep-water jigging to baiting.

That is why all my larger more powerful baitcasters are right handed & my smaller units are left handed. Everyone is different. But the majority of anglers i know who uses baitcasters usually develop this system to be more productive casting.
