Roughly 10yrs ago John Bretza of Okuma introduced the Makaira Line of fishing rods. It started with longer rods with lighter applications. In a few years Makaira Rods were a hit at ICAST for durable strong trolling rods. In 2020 Okuma retired that line & other options emerged like the PCH Trolling Rods to the HCS Custom Tuna Trolling Rods.
