We are credit/debit only no cash transactions. We do not sell fishing licenses so anglers must obtain them elsewhere prior to their visit. The lake is offering $20 all day motor boats to active military every Saturday.
In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels there is a ban on private watercraft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes; private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
The park remains closed to visitors and fisherman alike during the weekdays. We are still open on weekends. We will re-open for weekday fishing at the start of trout season, usually the second Saturday in December. Due to the short days closing time changes to 6:00 p.m. beginning Oct.23rd.
Catfish can be found throughout the lake, but are most prevalent at either end. Lake Wohlford cats are most frequently caught using chicken liver, shrimp, or cut mackerel.
Mostly small to medium sized bass being caught. Largemouth Bass can be found lingering around structure. The bass respond well to dark colored plastics, crawdads, and crank-baits.
