Restricted equipment includes; private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
The Lake will close on weekdays following Labor Day (Sept. 6th), as it does each year, re-opening in mid-December with the beginning of trout season. We will remain open on the weekends, but the park will be closed to visitors, and fishing, during the week.
Catfish can be caught throughout the lake, but are particularly active at either end. Lake Wohlford cats are most frequently caught using chicken liver, or cut mackerel.
Mostly small to medium sized bass being caught. Chris Freitas of Riverside caught & released an 8.20# bass using a jerk-bait in Boat Dock Cove Largemouth bass can be found lurking around structure. The bass are hitting, Senko worms (pumpkin), jerk baits, and crawdads.
The crappie fishing has been slow. Crappie generally prefer the cover of shade and are caught most frequently on finger jigs or live golden shiners.
