Yes, antifascists believe in democracy, and so do democratic socialists. Republicans clearly no longer believe in democracy. They prefer a strongman and fascism. The people who fought the Nazis were antifascists.
I see that Tackle Junkie has taken to the typical conservative tactic of accusing other people falsely of being everything bad that people on his side are. Has he seen what Trump said about his pal Jerffrey Epstein?
Dagnabbit, Etucks, My profile only has 23,685 views or something like that on this site. But this isn't my main internet presence. I am far more popular on Facebook. ;) (under my and my wife's real names).
Oh, Dark Shadow, no worries. I am on the field of play. I didn't miss even a day due to the little jab in my right arm. ;) It was only sore when I pressed on it, and now it isn't even sore then.
Tackle Junkie, I do accept that many people do not want to be vaccinated. My wife is one of those, as I stated, and I am tolerant and caring, and accept it but it worries me that she might get Covid-19. I think this pandemic will pass one way or another, as humans and the virus adapt to each other. Viruses tend to become less lethal over time because killing people kills the virus too. But meanwhile, it's still dangerous to those who are not immune to it.

the bottom line is as a society we, and by we i mean everybody has social responsibility
you think i like playing general hospital
not a chance
but if by doing it and getting inoculated
if it means one person less may die and the real personal inconvenience is minor
how in good conscience can you not do it
t.j you talk about conspiracy's
i talk about 10 years of a depressed economy and 3.6 million dead people
Booooooooooom!!!

TJ,
I don't really see anywhere on FNN where anybody here was saying that Covid wasn't lab created. First you're ranting on masks, and now you're placing your bets on where Covid was created. Choose a road!
You're doing the typical FNN Strawman. I know you haven't been here a while, but we finally started making fun of those individuals who create straw man arguments, hence the lack of activity on GenDisc.
You're arguing something that nobody said was fact. You're creating your own straw man just so you can knock it down.
If you can find even ONE person here saying that Covid was NOT manufactured, please let me know, so I can laugh at them too.
But, I'm sure you'll pull a SteelPlate and rant about something else in your next posts.
Dark Shadow, I did not say it's a fact, but I did say that it is highly unlikely that Covid-19 was manufactured in a laboratory, either intentionally or otherwise. After looking up the origins of the "Spanish flu," which happened way before there was any genetic engineering, I think even less than before of the idea that it came from a lab. Furthermore, the racial implications are troubling. If the lab were in the United States, would people be so willing to blame it on them? Well, perhaps, given the state of distrust in institutions that currently exists in the United States, but I find it troubling. Remember The Fishing Queen? We connected on Facebook, and guess where she is from? Wuhan, China. That's correct. And she went there shortly before the pandemic broke out, but got back before there were travel restrictions.
I frankly think this lab origin idea borders on delusional. Remember, I have considerable biological training (although I ended up being a social psychologist), and come from a family of mostly biologists, including my brother Craig who is a geneticist. He says that evolution is are more powerful than anything that can come from a laboratory.
Regarding the Spanish Flu, it actually came from that United States (yet somehow the United States was never blamed for it, unlike the blame game going on with Covid-19). In fact, U.S. soldiers could be blamed for it, because it was they who brought it to Europe. Investigations indicate that it originated on a pig farm in Kansas (where my grandparents were from). Apparently, related kinds of virus can swap DNA or RNA. (Covid-19 and the Spanish Flue are RNA viruses; they do not have DNA.) What they think happened, is that somehow a pig became sick on the farm from two viruses. One of them came from a bird (the avian flu), while the other came from a human. The two viruses swapped RNA in the pig, and created a new virus which caused that pandemic. For Covid-19 to have been created in nature would have required no more of a genetic change than that one, and probably less. Obviously, that did not happen in a lab, but happened "naturally." By the way, ETucker's suggestion that it is suspicious that Covid-19 does better indoors than outdoors, is superfluous. ALL viruses do better indoors than outdoors. Crowded conditions and close contact generally results in viruses (or bacteria) spreading more quickly. However, they still spread outside among animals, and sometimes among people even outdoors. Remember, animals don't do social distancing or wear facemasks, or make vaccines.
Virus researchers say that 60% of viruses are transmitted to humans from animals, and the rest evolve in humans naturally. As Craig says, we were overdue for a pandemic, actually. With over 7 billion people on the planet, and the hundreds if not thousands of virus species that reside in humans, and continue to evolve and mutate constantly, it was inevitable -- naturally. And more are likely to be on the way, sooner or later. Just look at all the mutant variations of Covid-19 there are already.
I would put the chance of Covid-19 starting in a lab at less than 5%.
