Night Fishing Okuma's T40X Salmon/Steelhead Rods Of The Rocks!
Okuma's T40X Series Was Replaced by The Guide Select Pro Line!
I decided to field test Okuma's Steelhead/Salmon Fishing Rods for night fishing in Hawaii. Have a 7'9" with a 3000 spinner w/4lb Trilene & a 10'9" with a 4000 spinner w/8lb Trilene. Only thing i can say is these are amazing light-weight rods that can handle fish with ease! Plus i'm getting superb casting distance as well. I highly recommend these models to any serious advanced/beginner angler. Multitude of lengths & power ratings to choose from. I'm using homemade Hawaiian Style flies with "Scuba Blues" extended soft glow grubs provided by Landon Yamamoto's "Completely Hooked Lures".
The choice of using an ultra violet light emitter at night was 2 fold, you don't spook the fish by intense flashes of visible white light & the ultra-violet makes the grub glow brighter & stronger with no visible light flashes to the fish. Thinking of getting the 10ft Okuma next.
