Too long ago, catching Bones off the Redondo "Short Breakwater" by the "Bubble" was a fun day. Catch and throw back using a Bonita Splasher and a feather. Started off using feather jigs from Japan, but those things were too expensive ... $0.25 each. So we tied our own. Keep altering the colors and amount of feathers until we hit the always works combo. The always worked was a single white chicken feather on a long shank hook. It was almost impossible to see the feather when it was in the water, but the bones could not pass it up. Figure the Bubble is gone now, but for the younger fellas, it was a warm water exhaust from the adjacent power plant.
