Thread: Marina Del Rey 4/26 - Thick Fog & Red Tide (Video)

Default Marina Del Rey 4/26 - Thick Fog & Red Tide (Video)

MDR is OPEN and not busy, no bait though.

We decided to take a trip out of Marina Del Rey Harbor and had a great Trip.
The Red Tide and Fog was very thick! The Red Tide was Everywhere!

The fog was very thick in the harbor but once I turned the corner of the break-wall it cleared up a bit and visibility was about 300+ yards on the bay.
Decided it would be best to fish deeper so we headed right out to a deep spot to avoid the red tide and that was a good idea.

We launched at about 7:30 and were at the spot shortly after 8AM. We fished for a little over 2 hours and ended up with close to 2 mixed bags of Rockfish with 2 of the fish being fairly decent size. A nice Red Vermilion Rockfish caught by my son (7) and a Salmon Grouper. The Rockfish are biting in the Bay!

Thanks for the report. Great to see kids on fish.
