Fish was caught on fresh 8lb Berkeley vanish fluorocarbon using a No4 Blue Fox Golden Vibrax and my new Curado 70HG attached to my spiral wrapped custom TJ’s Stollen Rods Co crankbait stock impregnated with rattlesnake skin.
you’ll see in the video.
took me five minute to land hon. Fight was unreal. Didn’t get the fight on video but I got the release and under water shots.
huge huge fish. Unreal.
I saw a video recently about how fluorocarbon line is overpriced hype.
vanish (not the transitions Kind!!) in 4,6 and 8lb line, I swear by that stuff. Fish can’t see it, it’s super soft and it lands toads all day.
im calling BS on the Fluorocarbon is garbage argument.
sure, one day you’re gonna pay $20 for a spool of Japanese line and it’s gonna suck balls. But there is definitely good fluoro out there. Japanese, Chinese and then some.

I had to turn that fish over ten times in river current. I was horsing him real hard. My rod was bent to hell.
I cannot believe that 8lb line held up. I seriously had to horse that fish around with my rod several times and stop him getting into rocks and structures. Can’t believe that line held up.
PS I do believe it was a native steelhead.
it did not have the Hatchery fish clipped upper rear dorsal.
im a newbie, so I may be wrong about that but I think it’s right.
