Thread: Crappie?

    Default Crappie?

Looks like Lake Hodges is turning out some nice crappie. Wondering if there are any crappie showing at Perris.

On years when I fish perris a lot I might get a few crappie out of perris. Im not sure their are enough to actually target them. Crappie Mike......work your magic at Perris and prove me wrong..lol.

There used to be specific spots that the crappie would hang out at in the lake. The crappie there at Perris liked to be around submerged wood. If you find wood, you'll find crappie. The old trees in the Bernasconi area used to hold some big fish, but they finally rotted away. Now with water covering so much of the brush and tree growth that have grown on the old shorelines for several years, the crappie are probably now spread all over. I would look for underwater trees that are close to deep water. The crappies right now should be fairly shallow doing their spring spawning.
