Thread: Lake Perris Marina closing

    Default Lake Perris Marina closing

I just found out that the Lake Perris Marina will be closed on March 1, 2020. No more rental boats and people that have their boats moored at the marina docks, need to have them removed by Feb. 28th. Right now the marina store is empty. The lake will remain open for private boating, float tubing, kayaks, shore fishing, etc., just no marina services. Word has it that the company that runs the Diamond Valley Lake boat rentals will take over the Perris Marina. Supposedly they will build new docks and hopefully allow private boat mooring once again.

Press Enterprise article goes into a little detail as to what is going on. Looks like they have been wanting to update it for awhile but the dam repair took precedent. The cost to clean up and remove the old marina seemed to be a hindrance to anyone wanting to take the project on so the state is going to cover those costs to help entice someone to build the new facility. Will be interesting to know if in the mean time once it is cleared out will boats be able to access that area.
